What I learned!

I have learned that generally my ancillary work and music video are liked by a lot of people, which i am very proud of. From the audience feedback i have come to find out that i should have been a bit more creative when it came to making the digipak as it is a bit simple, i could have added s different pattern/design on the CD panel or something like that just to give it something different. I've also learned that perhaps my advert picture could have been my front cover for the CD  as it would have worked just as well, but the reason why i didn't make it my front cover was because i wanted Talia's audience to see different sides to her personality and i believe that each picture that i used managed to do so.

Another thing that i learned, in regards to my music video was that all of our edits and costume designs worked extremely well, its just that perhaps our artist could have worked better with the song as in showed slightly more emotion in some areas, so we as a team could have directed her a bit better. I've also learned that our video could have had other people in it, we thought that for our idea to come across, there needed to be only the artist in it as that would be the only way we could show that she is the centre of attention. I now realise that we could have had as man people as we liked in the video, just as long as we knew how to make Talia stand out by using camera. editing and misce en scene.

Now all of our blogging work has come to an end and I am going away gaining a lot more information about music videos and digipaks. It has been a very good experience and i am proud that we have come so far and FINALLY finished blogging!!
Bye, Bye

Q3 EVALUATION: how did you use media technologies in the construction and research , planning and evaluation stages?

Q2: how effective is the combination of your main product (video)and ancillary texts(digipak and advertisement)

I think overall, our target audience will be pleased with the whole combination. The reason being Is because I feel as if we done a good job in showing the visual links between the music video and ancillary. I believe that the images that I used on my ancillary products are very bold and eye catching. I also believe that it is very controversial as it reflects and pictures the whole theme itself. Our target audience is aimed at the more young teenage based audiences. Reason being is because the music video illustrates heartbreak, loneliness and isolation. These are all qualities that most teenagers go through. So I strongly believe that the ancillary reflects all the qualities which make it very successful in trying to attract our target audience.

The obvious clear link between the advert and Digipac is the picture , i decided to use the same picture as i thought that picture was effective in a sense it reflected the musicvideo it self, it represented heartbreak through the heart placed on her lips.In addition the texts used are the same ,  i wanted the same text in my ancillary so it keeps constant throughout the process aswell as that i wanted the audience to familiarise with her lego which is represented through her name.

EVALUATION: QUESTION 4 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Feedback for Music Video and Ancillary Products

The feed back has made it clear that although the music video looks up to scratch and it clearly states what genre its a part of, the criticism was mainly about the lack of make up on the artist that was clearly visible in some of the close ups. After getting this feed back it was also brought to my attention that both my ancillary products ( digipak and advert) and the music video worked effectively together due to the clear visuals of the artist's face which I was striving to get in order to improve the chances of the viewer/consumer recognising both the products and the artist.

Another thing I learnt was that the mise en scene was very successful in the music video as the audience was able to engage with the artist physically and emotionally as the theme and tone was very clear but also the artist's image made her seem relaxed and normal which I think worked to our advantage because the viewer was able to engage with the artist on another level. We made it clear to the audience that the artist wasn't all about the fame and glamour as she wasn't dressed glamorously in all the shots/base tracks we wanted the audience to like the artist because she seems normal and easy to relate to and not as some obnoxious, money hungry, attention seeker. I believe that Talia performed very well and that her image/costumes suited her perfectly.

Taking everything into consideration I think this project was by far the hardest but engaging. There were a few minor hiccups (Jade forgot the camera was in her pocket and we almost went from central street to Barbican in search of it and faulty tripods) but we got through it with dedication and team work. I now have a lot more knowledge about the music industry as a whole and the synergy between media and marketing. Its been very interesting and I've had a lot of fun but the best thing of all....

NO MORE BLOGGING!!!!
