Ideas for a Digipack: RESEARCH

I have been thinking about how i would like my digipack to look and a few ideas have come to mind. Making the digipack shouldn't be too in terms of pictures for it, because our artist is a photographer and also enjoys being in front of the camera too.  We don't just want to take a still from the filming days because we in way have an advantage over others, as our artist loves pictures, so we do want to do a full photo shoot with a good scenery.

Here is a picture of what i was i was thinking of doing in a similar way because it draws attention to our artist Talia and it makes a bold statement, also her make up is similar to how we have it in some shots of our video:
TALIA: Our artist

Here is another picture of our artist, I took it quickly before she was about to do a base track at the City Road canal. This is a picture that we could use, it just needs a bit of editing as there is a shadow in the background.:

Teacher Feedback of Pre-Rough Cut Version Of The Music Video

While watching our music video in its current rendition, our teacher gave us some constructive criticism. Annabel explained that one of our base tracks in the park didn't work well as in some sections the top of our artists head is out of the frame. Our response to this is that we will re-shoot this entire base track on Sunday the 13th of November. Annabel also indicated that she would like to see more make up and particularly more lip stick on our artist. We have taken on-board this feedback and have decided to make the necessary changes before the Rough Cut deadline of Thursday the 17th of November.

Editing on 8th November : PRODUCTION

Time Table Of Editing Process : PRODUCTION

Tuesday 8th of November : Today we focussed on the structure and flow of our Music Video. We placed our base tracks into the timeline and began to see what worked well and what didn't. We have have the foundations of our music video done, making it easier for us to complete it in good time and to a great quality.

Thursday 10th of November : In this lesson we plan to edit towards our rough cut deadline. We realise that we will not have our final scenes shot until Sunday but we will leave gaps in the timeline that will later be filled with the new shots.

SUNDAY 14TH NOVEMBER: Third and Last Day of Filming!
Due to college being closed on Monday and Tuesday we lose out on our usual 3 hour media lesson on Tuesday meaning we fall behind on editing. We decided to conclude filming on the Sunday of the 14th as then this would allow us to  have all the footage we need by the 18th of November and use it to complete the rough cut.

Tuesday 16th November : Due to having no college, we wont be able to edit today.

Thursday 18th November : Today is the deadline for a completed rough cut to be submitted. As we have completed 80% of the editing already we know that we can comfortably meet this deadline, and look forward to constructive critism.

Friday 25thof November : We hope to have completed our editing of the music video and submit our final edited music video.

DAY 2 of Filming : PRODUCTION

Filming:
Today we filmed at a local park in Islington. We shot one base track and many cutaway shots. I being the director came up with the idea of having our artist appear sitting on the bench with what would appear to be herself. The shot would consist of her looking at herself to allow it to look realistic and not fake or manufactured. Logistically this takes great planning and even better execution and I can safely say i have achieved that when viewing the footage.

Problems:
The recent time change meant that it got dark extremely quick and so filming time was limited, meaning no matter how sharp and quick we where we was always up against the clock. However I feel as if we filmed enough footage to call the filming session a success.

Moving Forward:
We have now completed 90% of our filming and I believe should rap up filming on the 3rd day of filming which is yet to be decided.

Review of filming (03.10.11): PRODUCTION

Today's filming didn't go too well because of the weather. It was a dark and gloomy day, then in the middle of filming it suddenly started to rain, and i felt a bit sorry for our performer Talia because we all had an umbrella and she had to sing in the rain. Luckily, it wasn't heavy rain so she didn't get too wet.

Another thing that slightly went bad was that the base track that we had Talia do, the camera wasn't placed accurately so when we watched it back a bit of her head was cut off, so we can't really use much of that base track and because of the rain we didn't have a chance to re-film it.

The day wasn't all bad since Tahmid had an idea of a two shot frame of Talia looking at the reflection of her so it was like she had a twin, and when we got back to college we tested it out and it turned out really really good, so I'm looking forward to seeing how to fit it in to our video.
We still have one more place to film and then we will be completely ready to start editing.
