RESEARCH: 3 Magazine Advertisements That Relate To Our Genre

I like this advert of Plan B's album 'The Defamation of Strickland Banks' because it has a retro classy feel to it. The microphone in his hand clearly portrays what kind of genre he is from and judging from his clothes he seems very smart and serious about his music.. This is accompanied by his name in red, block capitals to allow easy recognition. The black background makes everything else stand out in this advert, which is a good thing. It's simple and clear as the text is not cluttered together and the font is simple and easy to read. Plan B is a UK singer-songwriter/actor whose music consists of RnB,rap, soul, indie rock and hip hop. This has enabled him to have a huge target audience ranging from teenagers to adults. Although Talia is mainly RnB i think an advert like this would be quite effective in portraying her style of music whilst giving her a sophisticated look.

This advert of Adele's album '19' uses the same image from the album cover  which allows easy identification of the product when its released. Although this advert doesn't have much text on it because too much text would would ruin the ambience that the tone of the image creates which distinctly relates to the album and the artist as a whole. With the genres being similar to Talia I think an advert similar to the structure of this would be effective in portraying Talia and her genre to the target audience.

This is a magazine cover of Taylor Swift a country/pop artist. As you can clearly see the main focus of the cover is the artists image, which I think is suited for both males and females as she doesn't look too provocative but enough to get a man's attention and on the other hand her fans mainly consist of females, both adults and teenagers, which is why she is made to look glamorous yet not overly so. I think an advert like this for Talia would be very effective for creating and setting her image in the minds of her audience therefore being very effective in promoting the album and gaining recognition.
