Analysis Of Previous Student Digi-packs: RESEARCH

This is a previous students digi-pack that i really like. Its good because there is a clear font that is easy for everyone to read. There are three different pictures of her that show different sides of, like every artist has different sides to them. The artists name "Melody D" is visible in a good place. it isn't covering her face. Everything has been used correctly as in the barcode, copyright etc. I really like how there's a use of colour and black and white because it makes it look more professional in a way and each picture works well. They've used the images appropriately as it doesn't look like they've stretched out and of the pictures. The image in the middle is the best because it has the artist faded out in a guitar which represents the music she plays, it could also show how good she may be at performing live perhaps.

Here is the advertisement that they made. I prefer the digi-pack a bit more but that's only because i personally think that the yellow in this is a bit too bright but i can understand why they used this colour as they used it for the main important parts that the public may need to see. I like how they used the same font for the artists name. They've only used thew fonts throughout so that's good, its not overpowering the advert. I like the range of quotes from different magazines., they haven't all giver five stars so it shows that they're not being over confident. The only problem i would have with one quote is that the first one is from the guardian and i don't think that that newspaper would be putting this advert in their newspaper.

I like that there is a consistent colour of purple throughout, so they thought about not using too many colours, but the problem is that this shade of purple isn't that nice. I like that the design has been used twice on the digi-pack, it is a nice design. I also like that there is a microphone in the last picture, it goes well as it would seem that she likes to sing which goes with the whole idea of being a singer. The third picture isn't so good because the background is an area in college and it just doesn't look very appealing, it also clashes with the other images that are in purple.

The good things about this advert is that the artist is clearly visible for everyone to see, the same design from the CD is used again so they're creating a sort of visual motif, they seem to have some of all the right information needed, and they've kept with the purple colour scheme that they have used before. The thing that i would say don't do this advert justice is that the colour is not really working because they have turned the artist into a colour that doesn't flatter her, the font where it says "Love On A Stick" isn't clear enough and there are random capital letters in the words "love" and "stick", also there are six different fonts which is a bit confusing. The touring sites are good but they're missing London, which is a key place to tour. I think that they have put the logo/record company in an odd place because it just looks too big. In my opinion this advert doesn't really look like its trying to promote a single, it looks like its trying to promote something for Halloween, but that's only because of all the different colours.

I like this Digi-pack because its simple but still says and shows a lot. The front cover picture is really nice, i like that her shadow is behind her and it is visible- i don't think that it was done intentionally but that's what makes it even better. They have used tow fonts which are very clear. They've used the rule of three so that most important part of the artist is shown. The back cover is also good as it has the barcode and record label is appropriate places, the track listing is clear and the image of her shadow works accordingly with the writing. The inside images create a personality for the artist, the image of her playing her guitar may suggest that she likes to play it on a nice day, the image next to it also shows that this is where she lives/grew up or just generally likes to be. Its lets the fans feel closer to the artist.

This is the advert that they made. It doesn't stand out as much as their Digi-pack does because its just plain white but they do have good information on it such as they record label, who she's sponsored by, quotes, release date etc. But the name of the single is really small, it should be something that grabs the audiences attention since this is the song they're trying to promote. There isn't really anything that stands out on this. I do like the font its clear and its the same font that they used for their digi-pack so that's good, they have consistency throughout.
